My Spray Tan Gone Wrong
A few years ago a bunch of friends of mine and I got together and decided to go to a spray tanning salon to get an artificial tan. We were very excited about it but we were very ignorant about the whole thing. There were many things we didn't know before we rushed off to the salon. No one ever told us about preparation and

since we did this without consulting our parents we had learned everything the hard way. We reacted to a spur of the moment idea. We wanted to get a tan but none of us were in the mood to hang out at the beach. My friend Kim knew a place that celebrities were known to go to for their tans so we thought it would be a very cool experience. So we dished out some money and the three of us were off to the salon.
It was very exciting and the salon was very soothing, cool, and relaxing. We didn't have appointments so we had to wait a while. The staff was looking at the clothes we were wearing as if we have done something wrong but what they didn't tell us is that our clothes were too tight to wear once we leave the salon. I realized that men and women were leaving the place with very loose clothing but since I was too excited I decided to try my luck and proceed.
It was my turn and I chose to get an airbrush tan instead of one from a tanning booth. The technician that was spraying my body was very friendly. She noticed that it was the first time for me and while she sprayed my body she was telling me that the most important thing is the pre tanning prep. I had no idea what she was taking about and didn't want to ask either because I had to pretend that I knew what she was talking about.
It took only a few minutes when my friends and I were on our way back home we were already beginning to look nicely tanned. When I got home to change into my pj's I noticed that so much of the tanning solution was rubbed onto my jeans. I noticed that my waist and hips areas failed to tan and were much lighter than the rest of my body. The next day I also noticed blotchy areas on my face and my legs. This was a spray tanning disaster, everything had gone wrong and I later learned what the lady was talking about when she mentioned how important it is to prepare. I learned that you have to exfoliate your skin to get an even tan and I learned why everyone at the salon was leaving with gowns and loose clothing.
